Adieu, 2011!

In the past year…

My debit card was stolen and incurred over $1,800 worth of theft.

I fought the Police who refused to investigate.

I testified in court.

I totalled my S10 pickup.

Sat three times on the side of the road with an overheated PT Cruiser.

Remodeled my bathroom.

Played a very dumb Bunny.

Had a wardrobe malfunction on stage.

Was accused of being a bad parent by my son’s school.

Watched him vomit before school for weeks on end.

Couldn’t help him.

Stood within minutes of homeschooling him.

Found a school that in which he would thrive.

Decided to move from the home I’ve known since I was 13.

Finally allowed myself to fall in love.

Chose Jaz’s school instead.

Broke my own heart when I walked away.

Lost many friends.

Left my job of 7 1/2 years on bad terms.

Found new homes for Barkley, the Shih Tzu, and Mimi, the parrot.

Thought I had TB for a half an hour.

Performed in my last Karing Kapers after 13 years.

Left the house that I loved.

Was kind of homeless for two weeks.

Jaz and I spent our first Thanksgiving alone.

I spent my first Christmas alone.

Started a new job that I love.

Heard the words, “One of our best students” in a school 7th through Senior year.

And for 2011′s final farewell… I hit a coyote on the way home last night.

There is truly something humbling in standing on the side of a deserted interstate at 2 a.m. digging innards out of the  grill of your car.  I can safely say that 2011 was not my year.  I am ready to tie this year up with a bow and bury it in the backyard.  So, I bid adieu, 2011.  You will not be missed.

As my friend, Seth, said… Dear 2012, please be kind.

I wish you all the happiest New Year!
